Our 3rd Annual Minden Christmas Street Festival 2008!

Last year was so successful we decided to have three booths this year instead of two!  Of course, one of the booths was for the alpacas.

We were able to put out more inventory and have room for our friend Marilyn to set up a spinning demo.  She is an accomplished spinner and weaver and her talents are very impressive.  She was spinning Falcon’s fleece right out of the bag from shearing.  No roving, washing, just raw off the animal fleece!  And she made it into beautiful yarn with no effort at all.  If you are in the area and looking to learn how to spin or weave, she gives lessons on this art.  Contact us for her info.

This year we brought out two of our young females.  Jazmin and Chelsea.  Jazmin was already halter trained, but Chelsea had never had a halter on.  When we first decided to bring girls, we put halters on Chelsea, Cassidy, Tenaya and Kalina.  It was obvious that Cassidy and Tenaya would need some extra time that we just didn’t have, so we concentrated on Chelsea and Kalina.  They both did great!   Besides learning how to walk on a lead, they had to learn how to jump in and out of the minivan.  After a couple of times, they were jumping in and out like pros.   The first day we brought Chelsea along with Jazmin.   They both behaved so well, we ended up bringing them both all three days.
